General Information

Transport

From Arlanda Airport: Either Flygbussarna (45 min) or Arlanda express (20 min) in both cases you arrive at Stockholm Central Station. In case you take a taxi, make sure to ask for the price prior to the ride. A reasonable price should be 450-500 SEK.
To KTH: From Stockholm Central Station take subway (red line) north towards Mörby Centrum and get off at station Tekniska Högskolan. Transport company in Stockholm is SL. You will find more information here.

Climate and Clothing

The climate in Stockholm is extremely varied and every season has its particular charm. Average temperature in May varies between +10 and +20C. You can check weather in Sweden here.

Time Zone

Sweden is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Credit Cards

Commonly accepted credit cards in hotels, restaurants and shops are American Express, Diners Club, Visa, Master Card and Euro Card. Restaurants and shops generally display signs indicating what cards they accept.

Currency

The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona, SEK. A currency calculation can be found online here.

Business Hours & Shopping

Shops are open between 10.00 and 18.00 hrs on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 hrs on Saturdays. Shops in the City centre have extended opening hours, some even on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs. The main shopping streets in the centre of Stockholm are: Hamngatan, Biblioteksgatan, Drottninggatan and Väster långgatan in the Old Town.
